Just in time to help push the film's upcoming premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, a second full trailer for Yoichi Sai's ninja drama Kamui has arrived on the scene. Sai, of course, is one of Japan's most respected arthouse directors and here he's attempting a big budget, full on crowd pleasing epic with Detroit Metal City star Kenichi Matsuyama in the lead. The earlier trailers for this one have been very strong and while this one is, too - mostly - it also includes a glimpse at some very dodgy CGI used to create a ship at sea. Now, I saw a very extended promo for Kamui in Cannes and at the time I was hoping that the bad CG was only temp but evidently it is not and there was lots more of it present in the reel that was shown. Here's hoping they get around to fixing this ...
