Word has just broken that a deal has been struck between Marvel Comics and Disney that will see Disney buy out the publisher and their entire library of characters and assets for four billion dollars. Four billion dollars. Remember when Marvel was flirting with bankruptcy not so long ago? I'd wager they're feeling pretty good about life right now. The deal has already been approved by the boards of both companies and is just awaiting approval from Marvel shareholders.

EDIT - Not "you", Todd. The greater, more all-encompassing "you" as in "y'all".
I'd like pixar / marvel co productions, but I'm a bit curious as to how that would fit together. Pixar has a unique style vastly different from the more serious Marvel Universe.
You people are a bit naive, pixar? Is obvious what is going to come out of this. X-Men: The early school years the series, Chip & Dale & Wolvie: Super Rescue Rangers, etc etc.
Heh. I've got little 'stake' in this because I'm not a fan of either Marvel or Disney. Pixar is good though. But either way: http://www.rowthree.com/2009/08/31/i-cannot-wait-for-the-synergy/
Marvel characters vs. Disney Characters, Battle Royal/Kingdom Come-style. Its gonna be glorious.
